Terms and Conditions

These terms cover consultations, alterations and bridal commissions with Eleanor Gibson, working as Ellie’s Atelier. I work alone, so where these terms say “I”, they mean me.

1. Consultations and fees

A consultation is a private appointment in my studio and I hold that time for you alone. Booking one costs £30. If you go ahead with the work, I take that fee off your final bill in full.

2. Cancelling or moving an appointment

Please give me at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange, so I can offer the time to someone else. With less than 48 hours’ notice I keep the £30 fee.

3. Bridal timings

Bridal work is built around a date that cannot move, so I keep to two rules.

  • Three months at least. I take bridal commissions no later than three months before the wedding. Below that I cannot give a gown the time it needs, so I will turn the work down rather than rush it.
  • Priority fee. For bridal work confirmed between three and four months before the date, I add a priority fee. It covers rearranging other commissions so yours can be finished properly on a shortened timeline.

4. Changes in fit

Bodies change, and allowing for that is part of my job. Substantial resizing late on is a different thing: it can mean rebuilding a garment rather than adjusting one.

  • If your measurements change substantially and the work is needed less than three months before the agreed delivery date, I charge for the extra time and labour.
  • Within that same three-month window, if my schedule is already full I may have to decline the work. I will help where I can, but not by breaking a commitment I have made to another client.

5. Agreement

Booking a consultation and going ahead with the work means you have read these terms and accepted them.

If anything here is unclear, ask me before you book — it costs nothing, and I would far rather answer a question than have you find out the answer later. When you are ready, book a consultation.
