Bridal & Evening

Wedding dresses, bridesmaids and anything worn for an occasion. Hems on layered and structured skirts, bustling — fastening a train up off the floor for the reception — bodice resizing, corset restructuring, and beading and lace repair. Silk, velvet and bias-cut fabric handled as it needs to be.

Textile Restoration

Heirloom gown modernisation, invisible mending and patching, garment remodelling, and period-correct zips, hooks and fastenings.

All pricing is indicative. Every garment is quoted at consultation, on construction, fabric and complexity.

Ask a question first — it costs nothing — or book a consultation.

Getting married?

Tell me the date and I will tell you the last day I can take the dress on.

I take bridal work on no later than three months before the wedding, and earlier through the summer when the diary fills. Inside that it is rush work at a surcharge, and only if the diary allows — ask rather than assume.

The Atelier promise

Nothing is measured out loud,
and the tape goes back in the drawer.

Every fitting is private and unhurried. No number is commented on, and the only question in the room is how the garment sits on you. More about the studio.

Book early. Bridal work needs three months at the very least, and longer through the summer. Inside that it is rush work at a surcharge, and only if the diary allows — ask rather than assume.

How it works

From first enquiry to final fit

01

The consultation

Ask first, or book straight in. The consultation fee holds your time — £10 everyday, £20 restoration, £30 bridal and evening — and comes off the final bill.

02

The private fitting

Bring the shoes and underwear you will wear on the day: heel height changes your posture, and posture changes how the whole garment hangs. Then a relaxed pinning session, and a precise quote.

03

The workroom

Industrial machinery for structure, couture hand-finishing for everything that shows.

04

The final fit

Return to try on the finished garment, draped as it should be, ready for the day.
